ARTWORK GUIDELINES

Follow these simple rules and your prints come out crisp, color-accurate, and exactly the size you expect — for DTF, DTG, and single-color HTV printing.

PREFERRED FILE FORMATS

  • Best: PNG with a transparent background, or vector files (SVG, PDF, AI, EPS).
  • Also accepted: high-resolution JPG, PSD, and TIFF.
  • Avoid: screenshots, images copied from websites, Word documents, and photos of screens — these are usually too low quality to print well.

RESOLUTION REQUIREMENTS

  • Target 300 DPI at final print size. Rule of thumb: pixels ÷ 300 = printed inches (a 3,000 px design prints cleanly at 10").
  • Minimum practical quality is about 150 DPI — below that, edges soften and fine detail breaks up.
  • Upscaling can't restore detail — start from the largest, sharpest file you have. Vector art resizes perfectly at any size.

TRANSPARENCY & BACKGROUNDS

  • Remove the background: save as PNG with transparency so only your artwork prints.
  • Semi-transparent shadows and glows print as solid color on garments — keep effects opaque or remove them.
  • White in your design prints as white ink (great on dark garments), not as the garment color.

COLOR PROFILES

  • Work in sRGB — DTF and DTG are digital processes that read RGB files best.
  • DTF and DTG print full color with an automatic white underbase, so photos and gradients work well.
  • HTV is single-color vinyl: submit flat, solid-color artwork with no gradients, shadows, or photo detail. Vector files are strongly preferred.
  • Colors always vary slightly from screen to garment — garments absorb ink differently than monitors display it.

SIZE & PLACEMENT

  • Set your file to the exact printed size you want (in inches) at 300 DPI — we print what you send.
  • Typical maximum adult print areas: about 12" × 16" for full front or full back, and about 4" × 4" for a chest print. Exact limits vary by garment and are shown in the order builder.
  • Never stretch artwork to fit a space — keep the original proportions so designs don't distort.

TEXT & FONTS

  • Outline (convert) text to shapes before exporting, or include the font files — otherwise your font may be substituted.
  • Keep lettering at least 0.25" tall; thin scripts below that can close up or lose detail.
